Overview

Containerised site security, factory-direct

Portable guard houses are SCS Global's containerised site security buildings for mining, oil and gas, defence, and industrial sites. We build them factory-direct from our Yixing, Jiangsu facility on 10ft and 20ft ISO 668 container shells, with CCTV, communications, climate control, and access-control fit-out installed and tested before dispatch. Blast-rated, ballistic-rated, and Region D cyclonic variants are engineered to client specification. The full range sits inside our Mining Camps cluster; each portable guard room ships globally with a Certificate of Compliance per unit.

Technology

Comms & CCTV Integration

Comms and CCTV integration covers operator monitor banks (2/4/8-panel), comms desk, access-control panels, and cable conduits, all pre-fitted at the factory. Where SCS supplies cameras, DVR/NVR, and monitors, the install conforms to AS 4806. Where cameras are buyer-supplied, the unit ships with conduits and mounting points ready for site-team termination. Access-control integration covers boom-gate control, traffic-light controls, automatic-gate controls, and badge-reader interface.

Climate & Power

Climate Control & Power

Units are fitted with split-system A/C, LED lighting, full AS/NZS 3000 electrical, and solar PV plus battery or generator-ready connection for off-grid deployments. Wall and ceiling insulation suits both hot-climate (Pilbara, Top End, GCC) and cold-climate (Eastern Highlands, NZ South Island) sites. The electrical fit-out is a full install: switchboard, RCD-protected circuits, GPOs for comms and CCTV equipment, dedicated A/C circuit, dedicated CCTV/monitor circuit, internal LED panels, and an external approach floodlight.

Compliance

Standards & Compliance

Every unit complies with AS/NZS 3000 electrical, NCC 2022 habitable building requirements (room dimensions, fire egress, ventilation, lighting), and AS 4806/AS/NZS 2201 for security system installations where SCS supplies CCTV or intruder-alarm hardware. Duty-station variants with plumbed fixtures comply with AS/NZS 3500. Western Australian mining-site provision sits under the Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Three questions procurement and security operations ask most often about portable guard houses.

What size guard house do I need?

The 10ft single-person unit (~7 m2 internal) suits a sole operator at a site-entrance gatehouse or satellite checkpoint. The 20ft two-person variant (~14 m2 internal) suits an operator pair with equipment racks at a primary entrance or shift-changeover position. Multi-module configurations extend the footprint for larger duty-station requirements.

Can guard houses be blast-rated?

Yes. SCS engineers blast-resistant gatehouses to a client-specified overpressure rating for blast-zone deployments at open-cut mining and explosives-handling oil and gas facilities. The rating is set against the site's blast model and the buyer's engineering register at quote stage.

What CCTV and communications systems can be pre-installed?

Standard pre-installed fit-out covers an operator monitor wall (2, 4, or 8-panel), cable conduits for site cameras, antenna mounts, a two-way radio base-station mount, intercom integration, and a UPS for critical systems. Where SCS supplies CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR, and intruder-alarm hardware, the install conforms to AS 4806 and AS/NZS 2201.
