Overview
SCS Global builds modular data centre containers factory-direct: ISO-based enclosures fitted with power distribution, precision cooling, fire detection and access control, tested before dispatch, shipped worldwide from Yixing, Jiangsu. The units sit in our switchrooms and electrical infrastructure range, serving EPCs, miners, energy operators and telcos deploying compute at industrial sites. We manufacture the enclosure layer enterprise vendors don't sell separately.
Specifications
A 20ft data centre container holds four 42U racks at 12 to 30 kW IT load. A 40ft unit holds eight to ten racks at 24 to 75 kW. All units take 380 to 415 VAC three-phase through 63 to 200 A panels with automatic transfer switching, racks loading 3 to 10 kW each. The matrix is the enclosure scope SCS builds. Specifications conform to industry standards. Confirm to project requirements.

Design
A containerised data centre is a factory-fitted enclosure: power distribution, cooling, fire and security installed and tested before delivery. SCS manufactures the fitted enclosure; the IT layer is fitted at the factory or by your integrator, boundary agreed at quote. Each prefabricated modular data centre follows one build path: shell modification, fit-out, factory acceptance testing, dispatch as freight, fabrication running in parallel with site works. A shipping container data centre keeps its ISO High Cube shell, shipping as standard freight under CSC approval. Tenders also write shipping container data center, the US spelling.
Manufacturers
A data centre container manufacturer builds and fits the unit; a systems integrator populates it. SCS is the manufacturer: shell, fit-out and factory testing on one line in Yixing, Jiangsu. Lists of modular data centre manufacturers mix the two, and many containerised data centre manufacturers integrate IT into enclosures bought from factories like ours. Every fitted unit passes factory acceptance testing of power, cooling and fire systems before dispatch. Four questions qualify any supplier: who builds the shell, what the factory test covers, where the fit-out boundary sits, how the unit ships.
Compliance
Containerised data centres are specified against TIA-942-C infrastructure ratings and ISO/IEC 22237 availability classes, with Australian installations wired to AS/NZS 3000. ANSI/TIA-942-C runs Rated-1 to Rated-4 across power, cooling and telecoms. ISO/IEC 22237 grades the same ground, Availability Classes 1 to 4. Uptime tier language is a design target: we build to meet Tier III principles where specified, and certification claims need a certificate. The shell carries ISO 668, ISO 1496 and CSC approval. Type-tested assemblies and pre-dispatch testing move the compliance pathway into the factory, replacing staged site inspections.

Configuration Options
The containerised data centre range spans micro-edge single-rack units, 20ft and 40ft single containers, and multi-container modular data centre blocks at megawatt scale. Modular data centre cost follows the configuration: unit size, redundancy tier, cooling type, security tier and fire package set the price, quoted factory-direct.
Four 42U racks at 12 to 30 kW IT load, with 2 x 25 kVA N+1 UPS and 5 to 15 minutes of runtime.
Eight to ten 42U racks at 24 to 75 kW, with 4 x 25 kVA N+1 UPS and 5 to 20 minutes of runtime.
3,400 mm width fits nine racks with in-row cooling, traded against special transport arrangements outside the ISO envelope.
Non-standard footprints and lengths built off the ISO frame to the rack layout and site brief, quoted factory-direct.
Single-rack units in the uEDC class TIA-942-C defines, for edge compute where one rack is the whole site.
Multi-container modular data centre blocks at megawatt scale, added module by module as load grows.
Builds to 50 degrees C ambient and cyclone-region variants cover harsh sites.
Applications
Mine sites run edge compute for autonomous fleets and processing control. Solar, wind and LNG operators add compute next to electrical plant. Telcos and remote operators deploy single-unit edge capacity where a building was never an option.

Three questions procurement, engineering and operations teams ask most often about modular data centre containers.
A modular data center is a complete data centre built as factory-fitted modules, typically ISO containers, with racks, cooling, UPS and fire systems installed before delivery. The unit arrives tested, connects to site power and network, and scales by adding modules.
Price follows the configuration: unit size, redundancy tier, cooling type, security tier and fire package. There's no list price: each unit is quoted to load and destination. Request a data centre container quote with rack count and IT load for factory-direct pricing.
Start from IT load and rack count, then set redundancy, cooling and security tiers against the site's climate and risk. The transport envelope fixes internal geometry, so layout and airflow resolve before fabrication. Our container design and engineering services handle fully custom scopes.
